Bart Walters
Full-Time Thailand Expat
Bart Walters is a 60-year-old American who has lived in Thailand for more than twenty years.
He retired early from a publishing and marketing career to find a new adventure in the Land of Smiles. Since then, he’s completed some interesting real estate projects, become a working journalist and copywriter as well as a teacher in a Thai university.
Bart has lived in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai and currently resides in Jomtien Beach, on Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard.
Vance Rabius

I was raised on a family farm in western central Missouri, about 50 miles east of Kansas City and a mile north of I-70 – 7 miles from Higginsville, a town then-and-now of about 4,000.
I completed a BA at the University of Kansas in Economics and Psychology, an MA at Arizona State University in Social Psychology, and a PhD at the University of Texas, School of Public Health, in Behavioral Science, Biomedical Statistics, and Health Economics.
I also studied briefly at the University of Montana in Missoula, the University of Texas School of Law, the LBJ School of Public Affairs, the Indian Law Institute and the Supreme Court of India.
I have lived in Missouri, Kansas, Arizona, Montana, Texas, India and Thailand.
My love for travel has taken me through all of the continental US and Hawaii, much of Europe, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Honduras, Cuba, the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Bonaire, Aruba, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Palau, China, India, and Thailand.
Professionally, I am a retired doctor of public health and a former Senior Scientist at the American Cancer Society and former Research Director at MD Anderson Cancer Center. If that is of interest, you can find more about me easily online via Google or Google Scholar.
I retired on December 31st, 2017 and moved to Bangkok on January 6th, 2018.
Esther Milanzi
Full-Time Indonesia Expat
Esther Milanzi grew up in North Carolina. She has been an educator for nine years. She has lived and taught in Florida, New York, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, and now resides in Bali, Indonesia, with her husband, who is also from North Carolina, whom she met on a beach in Thailand. She has taken some time away from education to focus on writing her first novel. She is also developing two businesses as an education consultant and a writing coach.

I was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1974 to British born parents. I had a few trips to England in the 1970’s and started to develop an interest in the world and travel from a young age. I had my first international solo trip in 2003 when I moved to England to work and travel. I spent time living and working in England and Scotland and travelling to Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Europe and the US. When I returned to Australia in 2007, I decided that I loved travelling. Between 2007 and 2016 I took many trips to SE Asia.
Emma Titley

For Emma Titley, there isn’t a straightforward answer to the question “Where are you from?”. While Emma holds a Canadian passport, she was born in Singapore and grew up in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.
In 2016, she moved back to Indonesia to the island of Bali where works as a teacher at Green School Bali. In her free time, she loves to take photos, paint, travel, and go surfing.

Born overseas, Sophia Titley has lived everywhere from Saudi Arabia to Colombia, Indonesia to Spain. More recently, she calls the U.K. home. Originally from Canada, she studied political science and Spanish at the University of British Columbia and enjoys traveling, reading, and cooking in her spare time.
